Yangon International Airport

Yangon International Airport (IATA: RGN, ICAO: VYYY) is the primary and busiest international airport of Myanmar. It is located in Mingaladon Township, 15 kilometres, north of central Yangon, only 4 kilometres from “Hotel Scion Yangon”.

All ten Myanmar carriers and about 30 international airlines operate at Yangon International Airport. The airport is also colloquially known as Mingaladon Airport due to its location. Once regarded as the best in Southeast Asia and the primary airport serving that region. A modernization program to upgrade the airport was launched in April 2003 and resulted in a new terminal and an extended 3414 m runway.

In 2018, Yangon International Airport handled a total of 6.1 million passengers. Today, 34 airlines operate to and from 33 international destinations, while five airlines operate our domestic routes. Lots of terminal facilities such as money exchange, food, shopping, luggage storage and other personalized assistance like first aid and wheel chair are usually available in both domestic and int’l terminals.
